Rally for Research, Families, and Hope at “Hope on the Court”

Looking for a fun way to get active and support a great cause? PNRI is proud to be a sponsor of Hope on the Court, a pickleball tournament benefiting the ARG1D Foundation—an organization dedicated to helping families affected by Arginase 1 Deficiency (ARG1D), a rare urea cycle disorder that causes dangerous buildups of toxic metabolites that can lead to serious neurological complications.

The ARG1D Foundation not only provides critical resources and support for families navigating this rare condition but also funds research conducted by PNRI’s Dudley Lab, which is working to better understand and find new ways to treat urea cycle disorders like ARG1D.

“Partnerships between researchers and patient advocacy groups are essential to progress. They’re not only a powerful source of motivation, but their lived experience helps shape the research questions we pursue and keeps our work focused on what matters most.”

Aimée Dudley, PhD
PNRI Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Investigator

The event takes place Sunday, December 7, at Side Out Tsunami in Seattle, and welcomes players of all ages and skill levels—from first-time players to seasoned pros. Participants can play for fun, compete for medals, or simply come to cheer everyone on. Even better, grab a colleague, family member, or friend and make it a day of friendly competition and community connection.

As a proud sponsor, PNRI celebrates the spirit of collaboration behind this event bringing together researchers, families, and community members to advance understanding, treatment, and hope for those affected by rare genetic disorders. Whether you’re rallying for fun or for the future of rare disease research, your participation helps advance early detection, treatment, and support for families facing this devastating condition.
